From living in the world’s second most expensive private residential property—Antilia, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s daughter, Isha Ambani, will be moving into another swanky mansion in Mumbai post her wedding to Piramal scion Anand Piramal on December 12. And while Isha grew up in a sprawling 4 lakh square feet colossal home on Altamount Road,
her new marital home won’t exactly be cramping her style. The
50,000-square-foot sea-facing bungalow in Worli is a gift from Anand’s
parents, Ajay and Swati Piramal, who purchased the INR 450 crore mansion
from Hindustan Unilever in 2012. The Piramals received an all-clear
certificate and permission to occupy the one-acre property from the BMC
on September 19. Gulita, as the plush residential complex is called,
used to be Hindustan Unilever’s training centre prior to the Piramal
purchase. Interestingly, a 2012 Economic Times report states
that Piramal’s realty arm won the bid to buy this property, beating
businessmen Anil Ambani and Gautam Adani, who had placed bids between
INR 350 and INR 400 crore. Mukesh
Ambani and Nita Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani is also set to wed Anand
Piramal, the son of Ajay and Swati Piramal in Mumbai this December
Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s Marital Home
The
couple will move into the five-storey bungalow at Worli Sea Face,
Mumbai, which is currently undergoing renovations; a pooja is set to
take place by December 2. The level 1 basement has a lawn, an open-air
water body, and a double height multi-purpose room. The ground floor
houses the entrance lobby, and the upper storeys have floor plates
ranging between 8,700 square feet and 12,300 square feet, all inclusive
of living and dining halls, bedrooms and circular studies. The bungalow
also has lounge areas, dressing rooms and servants’ quarters across
different levels.

Leaving Behind Antilia
Isha’s current home,
Antilia, located on the uber-luxe Altamount Road — the address of the
who’s who of India’s biggest industrialists and tycoons — is a 570-foot
tall building and is known as the world’s first billion-dollar home.
It was built by Mukesh Ambani at a cost of $70 million back in 2002. The
27-storey home comes with three roof-top helipads, 6 storeys dedicated
to car park, a number of guest bedrooms, a recreation floor, health
floor, a theatre room with 50 seats, maintenance floor, car service
floor, and private floors for the Ambanis.
